Starlit Evening

by Baby Rainbow   Feb 14, 2013

You blindfold me with velvet,
whispering in your cotton voice
that leads me to your heaven.
You gently reach out for my hand
taking it inside your palm,
pulling me towards your love.
We step upon each fluffy cloud
as they make a peaceful stairway
towards the secret surprise.
Removing the blindfold from my eyes
causes a gasp of refreshing air
when I witness the romantic scene.
A table covered in petals of roses
with candles softly glowing
amidst the taste of a home cooked meal.

The sky has never felt so close
as you reach up to the moon
and lay it above my head.
You count out a single star
for every day you have loved me
and create our very own starlit evening.
Embraced in your arms as our feet dance
to the tunes of the singing doves
and the heartbeats of our souls.

But when the clock strikes twelve,
the midnight breeze blows out
the flames that turn to tearful soot.
You kiss my cheek and say goodbye,
as you count out every petal
for each day that you miss me.
But in our dreams we come together,
you create this magic romance
that has never left your spirit.

And in that kiss you gave to me ,
the memory of this starlit evening.

And every time I count the stars
I will know that you love me.

I wonder why you didn't make it belong to the love category!! I loved the idea of cotton voice, amazing!! My favorite part is:

"The sky has never felt so close
as you reach up to the moon
and lay it above my head."

The title is superior and enchanting.
Saffie, You are always amazing and I humbly confess that you have a very well known experience which is obvious through every line you penned.
Thank you for sharing that with us.
