Reminder

A little click,
had I forgotten I was logged on?
We used to email about school
constantly, but we haven't had
classes together and somehow
I miss that.

Maybe you're still a big deal to me-
though we don't talk all the time,
you emailed me, specifically on chat
to have comfort from this craziness
of being a senior in a pressured high school.

I used to say your egotistical
mind has got mixed up on the only
competition that matters to you
- speech,
yet we encourage each other in a way
that isn't jealousy and you always
want the best for me.

Tonight, you asked if I was there,
and trust me, I will always be there.
You were a close friend three years ago
and you still are...

so putting aside my essay and those
concepts and principles of psychology,
I'll just chat with you, watching the ".... says"

as my heart hammers,
I wonder if you can hear it over
the internet connection-

- I was listening to music and was logged on to my email account when I was shocked to hear the little click chat button and it was my school friend. I'm glad we could talk, it's always rush rush rush in the halls at school :] I don't know why I wrote something about it, just felt in the moment!
