Parallel Lovers

by Mermaids Lullaby   Feb 15, 2013

Torn apart and swept away
by the ebbing moon's curse;
Trapped in separate shells
and drowned by the rip tide

Meetings projected timelessly
as star-crossed lovers abroad,
Doomed by reincarnation
fated upon parallel shores

Cradled by a bed of coral reef
and emerald strands of barnacle,
rests a bottle of Italian tears
poured out in ancient manuscript

Verses memorized by heart
wafting with the Siren's allure;
A symphony of lost love
crescendos my curiosity:

Does Cupid's servant of romance
still shadow the Sicilian shore,
gazing out at the same sunset
which I bid farewell in Alexandria?

    Im surprised you do not have more work here. Just as I am surprised with how few comments you have. I adore the things you pen here. Each one is so perfect in its own way and they truly make the name "mermaids lullaby" fit.

    This is no exception it is lovely.
