I love the repetition here, it really gives us a glimpse of the speaker's frame of mind. I like that you kept the "shame" ambiguous, so we don't know the source. It could be innocent, just her being hard on herself, or it could be a guilty conscience, something she's done that she hasn't forgiven herself for or something she's done to sabotage her new relationship. What a mystery! I'd love to read more of her story one day, if you're up for it. |

It is hard to believe that you deserve love, especially after you've been hurt before, and I know that feeling all too well, you feel guilty for opening your heart and you feel guilty for letting someone in, because you know that either they'll hurt you, or you'll hurt them. Sometimes, someone loving you when you don't love yourself, makes you hurt more than no love at all...I know that. |
I can relate something, to which my mind makes it into the movies, pretty well done, somehow the statement is a predicament to a very sad feeling. Some bad things will also be gone, there's still sun to shine. good poems |
