Framed

by Maple Tree   Feb 18, 2013

Lacing stitches in delicate fashion,
I wrapped my cry in a tea stained
doily, presenting the feelings in
a grand finale.

I needed to let it go, sorrow
stabbed just deep enough
for me to crawl out of safety,
preserving the moment for
me; alive is all I feel.

Framing the darkness upon
my wall shall remind me
of the moment when I was
alone, the only person who
could help me, was me.

Tears are beautiful when the soul
climbs out of shadows, allowing
the sun to dry away stains from
pale cheeks; turning them to a
bright, beautiful rosy smile.

^^ I really fell in love with this stanza, everyone should be able to relate somehow. We've all been through something, big or small, where we were our own help. Where we felt alone but knew no one could help us but ourselves....

Very beautiful poem, honestly...and that last stanza...jaw dropping.

^^This must be the most inspiring stanza I've read today :)

You make me smile with your outlook, but also I feel strength from you when I know you have demons in you.

You are a precious friend and an amazing writer...I love this piece.
