Stronger

by Daylight Lucidity   Feb 22, 2013

Lying upon the floor,
Tears pooled around her body
Staining despair, showing the burdens she has bore
She discovered a new pain entirely.
Feel the thunder rumble from behind darkened windows
Watch the lightning strike the earth
Who broke her no one knows
But she feels numb, it no longer hurts.
Her lover, worthy of nothing but hate,
Is struck by the lightning her agony creates
She smiles deviously within the confines of her black room
Uttering that no one should have assumed
That because her heart was frozen and shattered,
That she was weak
Against the cracked windows rain clatters
And she screams over the storm's roar that she is anything but meek.
She keeps this story a secret,
Praying no one knows
Though her strength does now show,
Little do they all know, she... Is me.
