Sleeping beneath the shadowing moon
I close my weary eyes tonight
and dream of being with you.

Days have felt like years
with the absence of your touch
and the fading whispers of your voice.

My tear-stained lips feel lonely
without the kisses of heaven
you so gently planted upon them.

I gaze through the window
and wonder if the silver stars
will catch my falling tears.

And so I find myself here every night
kissing your moonlight shadow
and dreaming of the impossible.
