Fight...to live

by Jenni Marie   Feb 27, 2013

Breathe in, breathe out
exhale.

Take a step back, allow yourself to see
enjoy the finer, simpler things
that life has to offer.

Cease scurrying about with impatience
allow yourself the little luxuries
joys that are there for the taking;

if only you would take the time
to search for them.

Didn't anyone ever tell you
that life is no fairytale
don't expect everything to
be handed over
but instead fight...to live

Allow yourself the chance
to recognise the difference
between living... and existing.

Stop simply enduring, stop surviving.
Start living.

I remember glancing at this when you wrote it but never reading it start to finish and I am just moved by your words! I love the wisdom and the phrases that make me think again about our willpower to live. We definitely have it, and like you said, it's not just about simply enduring, it's beginning to live and not waiting to. I also like how you actually write out "breathe in, breathe out"--- I think though that is assumed in all of us, seeing it written down has a placating affect. It can never be overdone, it's a good reminder to sit back. It's easy to forget when we just rush by that existing and living are different in ways....we are called to do more than just exist. Great thoughts in this piece that are very true!!!
