Her Bloody Kiss

by Daylight Lucidity   Mar 1, 2013

See it lie forlorn and resolute
A blackened rose not fit for two.
I play with it, numb and sad,
My fingers dance around its thorns
As my lips graze its petals, pink against black,
Longing for someone to brighten it once more.
I close my darkened eyes
And kiss the rose's thorns delicately
My lips begin to slowly weep crimson elegantly
And it flows onto the petals that are black as pitch
I open my eyes and gaze at the flower
Silently wondering, pondering, hoping, if
My lover will enter through yonder door
And awaken me from such dark thoughts.
Might she place her hand upon my rose
Cradle it gently within her grasp
Gaze upon me, it is I she chose,
My heart awakens at last
Beating loud, her smile tells me she hears
Its rhythm uneven and my silent fears
She kisses the petals, though bloodied they are
Graceful as she is, she weeps the stars.
She drops my rose to cradle my face
Calm and knowing her lips meet mine
Healed through her bloody kiss,
My inner light begins to shine... A dream dreamt time after time...
See it lie forlorn and resolute
A blackened rose, a darkened heart, not fit for two.
I play with it, numb and sad,
My fingers dance around its thorns
As my lips graze its petals, pink against black,
Longing for my love to come and brighten it once more.
