Natives

Rewrite of Blink 182's
"Natives"
from Neighborhoods (2011)

I'm like a mountainous Sage, Pondering which path to choose.
I am no Prodigal Son, Bathing the comforts of home.
I am the God of your Dreams, You know with me you can't lose.
As day turns into the night, I am still standing Alone.

Swelling Desire takes flight, But there is nowhere to go.
Dark urges inside me hide, I keep those stirrings pushed down.
Are you along for the ride? Because I think you are too.
This is a wild joyride, Married Hurricane Andrew.

They start to crucify me, hanging me from the slip noose.
I am as dead as the space, ripped open guts spilling loose.
Cross up on top of a hill, Just like a star burning bright.
Nobody Listens and prays, Observing ghosts are Alive.

Deep seated nervousness fear, Fractured thought scattered inside.
Still searching someone to love, wearing out coat leather hide.
This world is boring to me, don't even know that we're here.
I take in all that I see, harmony rapture is near.
