Love this, it reminds me a bit of the "goodbye song" in that show, bear in the big blue house, not sure if you're familiar with it. Well written!

The brevity is really refreshing here! Simple yet satisfying and calming for the reader to read.

"As the sun goes down
it is the end of the day"

- Just a few suggestions. Maybe add something more visual, the color of the sun, where you are watching it from, etc.

"there is a beautiful sunset"

- Use another word for sunset since you already mentioned "sun" and "sunset" is your title?

"saying to me
goodnight until tomorrow"

- I'd suggest putting the last three words in "" for dialogue. Also, think of another verb other than "saying", maybe "singing" or "proclaiming", just something more lively and imaginative.
