Broken Door

by Daylight Lucidity   Mar 3, 2013

Shameful, I sat upon the floor
As the tears rolled from my frozen blue eyes
Broken inside, lonely love spilled from a broken door
This time, the time you showed care, it was over you.
As you knelt in front of me while I wallowed,
Might I be mistaken when I thought I glimpsed love for me
Pure hearted and true, yet your face was nothing but solemn
Might my tears be wasted on false hope, I beg for your honesty.
I was told part of you was still in love with me,
Am I still the first girl you've ever loved, or might that be a lie?
I've grown cold, delicate rose, since you left and there was no "we"
As you knelt before me, my tears I tried to dry,
I believed you, fully, when you told me I held half your heart
But, when you went down a different road
I stored any possible hope behind a locked door and set apart
You from my mind, finally my heart slowed...
Now as I sit with you right here
I gaze within your fathomless eyes
And my heart warms and I'm engulfed in fear
For I almost told you I loved you again, against what everyone advised
When you asked if I wanted you to walk away
I took it deeper to heart than what was meant
Then again, your solemn gaze made me think that it was what you meant to say
For I believe you meant from my life,
I do believe that as I said no, your eyes were full of love then, too...
Delicate rose, I love you immensely
It matters not, however, dearest heartbreak,
Until you tell me: am I still the girl you claimed to love intensely?
Broken inside, lonely love spills from a broken door
Within my very soul and heart, frozen as they may be,
Delicate rose, you're more important to me than I let you see...

This was my favourite part - something you'd expect to hear in a song :) Well wrote though :)
