Angelic Hugs

It often feels like forever since the last time that we hugged
and I was safely wrapped inside your velvet arms.
Out of all the people in this world,
this poem is written just for you
because out of all the hugs I've received,
no one hugs me like you do.
You offer me protection and I instantly feel secure
as you tightly hold me close and make my worries disappear.
It's like you carry magic dust that makes them fly away,
making my burdens lighter and my lungs find air again.
Your motherly touch is more precious than a pearl,
no one hugs me the way you do
and I hug no one else like I do you.
When I am hiding inside my invisible ball
and the dark skies pull me under,
I know there is no greater cure
than a hug from you that reaches into my heart
and pulls the sunshine to the surface.
And inside my Angel's velvet arms
I know I can never be hurt again
in the way the world has caused me pain.
Because inside my Angel's velvet arms,
her angelic hugs soothe my heart
and I become stronger than I have ever been.
