The Stranger With Blue Eyes

I feared this stranger
because to me she was unknown
and I had learned
to always assume the worst.
But when I looked
into her beautiful blue eyes,
it was like looking into the calmest ocean
with waves of compassionate care.
On the first day we met
she gave me two of life's most important gifts;
time and patience.
With these special gifts
I learned to trust this stranger
and feel safe within her company.
In time I have learned that her blue eyes
truly define the person she is
because her heart is like the calmest ocean
who cares for every young fish
that swims beneath her waves.
This stranger grew to be my friend
and I thank her now and always
for the gifts she gave me
on that first day that we met.

    This really is lovely saffie. Eyes are so beautiful on each person and can show so much in such a simple thing. You start out simple yet strong. You fear a stranger and I love the vagueness again of this poem as you do not say who this person is. It leaves the reader asking stuff like. Are they related to you? Did you just meet them? Anything like that. Yes eyes are oceans of the calmest souls when we get lost in them. I love it when we can find trust in someone and be friends with them. This really is a lovely write because. You think so highly of this person and you can tell how much you care. In this poem you say this person healed your heart and has become so close to you. I love this dedication. 5/5
