On the Wings of an Angel

by Meena Krish   Mar 8, 2013

From the start of daylight
through the night
she answers our call at our bedside,
wearing a smile that loves
with looks of solace
she is a mother dressed in white.

To each and every medical need
which time stubbornly demands
patiently she listens food she feeds,
charting down our daily progress
encouraging our feet to walk
she wakes a heart which is oppressed.

On the wings of an angel
we rest our breath
she is a nurse
who cares for our health

In her duty she never fails
no matter how tiring
recovery is her reward a joy which sails,
her life's slogan is attention
that doesn't look at color or creed
but only sees a child in a helpless situation.

On the wings of an angel
we rest our breath
she is a nurse
who takes care of our health

From the time we arrive
till the day we leave
she is the one responsible for our life
wearing a smile that loves
with looks of solace
she is a mother dressed in white.

I loved the title the most, so enticing! The nurse stays awake with open eyes, watching the progress and improvement in our health, while we sleep and rest in peace, not caring of her huge efforts. Nurses are the messages of mercy that God sent to us. We never feel this grace untill our health is exposed to danger. Meena, I loved the true message you delivered through the lines...it's....so deep....just beautiful. Thank you for sharing this with us.

Love the title, it truly fits the description of a mom. As children I don't think we really see what mom's do for us until we grow older, especially when we have children of our own. This write speaks volumes of how a mom loves from the day we are born until the day we pass... very powerful and well written. (7)
