Cloud Fingers (Tanka)

by Maple Tree   Mar 11, 2013

White capped sea ribbons
unlock darkness of mountains,
cloud fingers hover
while haunting of seagulls fly
in midst of a somber morn.

Oh Maple. So heartfelt but so beautiful.

Very unique and like we all keep saying to you - you have a gift with the small poetry and the forms and making the image in them very big.

One thing I love about the tankas is that you can pack so much meaning and the best imagery into such a small poem, and you did just that. Beautiful work, Andrea.

On point Tanka, really beautiful imagery, I love the idea of cloud fingers, reminds me of low clouds that feel like they are embracing you...
I love the simplicity, its lovely to see a nature write from you, although the hint of sadness is still evident.

    Love it.

    :)
    Hugs and love you xxxx
