Promises

A promise is more than what you say
or what you will do
it is a bond of life and love.

It isn't speculation or a suggestion
it is only as strong
as the person who makes it.

Its a truth not a lie
built on yammering words
with no direction.

Without truth in love
and life you are truly lost
with no place left to stand.

So when you promise,
do so with all your heart,
mind and soul.

For it is your signature
that signs the promise
and no one else.

    I found it strange that as soon as I started reading this poem a song called No Promises came on shuffle on my iTunes xD. I really like the message in this- I think people take promises much too lightly. For this reason I love the line "For it is your signature that signs the promise". A promise is a commitment. Something to show that you really mean what you're saying. I also love "it is only as strong
    as the person who makes it". I really liked this, good job :)

    You should add an apostrophe in 'its' because I think you meant to say "it is" rather than "its". Other then that, I liked the flow of this.
