One Last Tear

by Daylight Lucidity   Mar 20, 2013

Down, down, down falls the last tear she will ever shed
Falling ever so elegantly in an ominous glow
Wrapped in the arms of her saving grace, her sorrows have fled
She smiles so slight, laughs so soft, yet a tear still flows.
Her savior does not wipe this droplet away
But rather cups it in her hand,
Cherishing its beauty undisturbed by hate
And whispers to her the very promises of love so grand.
The setting sun illuminates the tear
Cupped in her saving grace's hand, it glows brightly
They both stare, whispering goodbyes to her fear
Of being left behind during the darkest of nights.
Her lover, so beautiful, takes her face in her hands so trusting
Staring into her eyes so uncertain
Urging her to trust that she loves her truly
And urging her to embrace their passion.
She murmurs she's trying
But her tear lays intimidating in her grasp
She asks, "how do I know you're not lying?"
Her lover, her savior, utters "what a silly thing to ask...
Because I'll always love you, save you."
They kiss, sparks in the fading light on the horizon
Her heart knows it is love so pure and true
With a future so dazzling...
Down, down, down falls the last tear she will ever shed
Falling ever so elegantly in an ominous glow
Wrapped in the arms of her saving grace, her sorrows have fled
One of relieving love,
One free of sadness and pain,
One of gratitude for her savior.
