The Freight Train (Shadorma)

by Rusheena   Mar 21, 2013

The freight train
bustles through the town,
in full steam.
It destroys
with little effort, as the
farmers take shelter.

* The Shadorma is a Spanish 6-line syllabic poem of 3/5/3/3/7/5 syllable lines respectively. The freight train is a tornado; it's based off reports that tornadoes sound like freight trains.*

I really like how you linked the noise of a freight train with a tornado... I didn't see that coming at all. And also how you describe it pillaging through these small farming communities. Good write Rusheena! (:

Thats a fantastic poem, very descriptive with a few chosen words. ~bustle = great use and goes very well for the tone of the poem. " with little effort" shows just how strong it is. I find it very interesting when I learn new things from a poem so you added a little bit in here, thanks!

    Great job.
