Memories

by Jack Nightengale   Mar 21, 2013

Allow me to show what memories are,
Their those things in the distance out of reach from afar.
Simple words of a broken soul,
Broken dreams no longer left whole.

Silent pleas for comfort and affection,
Foreign tears longing for convection.
Lonely cries of constant abandonment,
Simple lives searching for atonement.

Neglected emotions of the long lost dead,
An empty pillow case no longer a place to rest your head.
The stone pillar of solitude,
No sense of servitude.

Ghost of what should be but never will,
Ghouls of the night for sheer thrill.
Forgotten or wanting to be,
As far as you know that faded thought is me.
