Dear Agony

Upon my branch I sit and ponder
As I cradle my cherry blossom gently
Adoring its sweet aroma, charming and full of wonder
Betwixt the tree and grass my tears hover hauntingly,
Defying, mocking, gravity.
I try to not notice the presence that's lacking
The one of my love, sickening, but true
Under the weight of realization, the branch begins cracking
A realization that my love, dear agony, is you.
Torturous and cruel your memory still lingers
As every blossom upon this here tree
As every petal of the flower I cradle near
The one that you had the gall to name, to chain, me.
Oh dear girl, your heart I wish to enclose in my grasp
And writhe with pain at your smile
Your kiss still potent and acidic on my lips
Proving me weak to all those who are vile.
Traumatizing was this love, dear agony
And no word that I utter this night is a lie
Claiming the night as ours was foolish, leaving me to breathe raggedly
While I peer into the stars where your memory is blatant and bright.
You told me, dear agony, that each star represents a day you'll care
You're no longer there to help me count
Feelings of abandonment rain down tauntingly as if dared
To see how long before I break, before I cry out.
I stay within this tree, upon this branch
Kept immobile by your invisible shackles
Awaiting to see if you return, dear agony,
Claiming love that is to never again be spoken of by any chance
Dear agony, our flower has wilted
It, too, died of a broken heart
Its pink petals became so from my tears tinged red
Bleeding internally from a wound that will continuously hurt.
You're a beautiful curse given unto me
As a challenge of my eternal soul's strength
I do not hate you, dear agony,
But every moment with you urges me to break,
