Protective Instincts

by Baby Rainbow   Mar 26, 2013

I'm shutting you out because
I should never have let you in.
Never did I think
I would love you this much,
let alone that you'd love me back.

You have come too far inside my Earth,
you have reached the very core of my heart
and I can see you burning from the flames.

I am shutting you out to extinguish the fire,
showering you with water of freedom;
permission to escape.

I'm setting you free now,
releasing you through my protective instincts,
because I love you too much to watch you suffer
and you only suffer because I let you in.

    Oh my...

Saffie, the reptition in this piece was AWESOME..you had repeated lines spread out in different stanzas of your piece and I thought that was so intriguing!

I'm totally in love with this piece , which is different for me, I would usually think something like this lacks detail, but this did not....shows a little bit of frustration!

Very well done girl, I love it!
