Falling Inside the Black

by Jack Nightengale   Mar 28, 2013

Though I've found light its starting to go dim,
I feel my body getting numb again, limb by limb.
The closer I get the more it start to fade,
Is this the false hope that heaven has made?

Ground once solid now slippery like suds,
The more I move, the faster I try to run, the thicker it gets, feeling like mud.
Still I try, believing there's hope,
Still in my hands, you slip away like soap.

The dark slowly swallowing that light,
That hopeful light now fading from sight.
The chains arise again pulling me back,
Once again I'm falling inside the black.
