The Game

by Rebecca Bentley   Mar 28, 2013

Holding my heart in the palm of your hand,
You mapped out my future,
Destroyed all my plans.

Holding the strings,
So you're in control,
Treat me as a toy,
So you play the leading role.

I'll follow for a while,
I'll do as I'm told.
You take the leadership,
As your feelings grow old.

You will start to despise me,
And I won't know why,
So I'll do things to please you,
I'll really try.

Then you'll turn bitter,
Because I've ruined your life,
But you want to keep me trapped,
So I'll have to pay the price.

And as you play the game,
I'll carry on with the rules,
Because even when you hate me,
My heart still belongs with you

What matters to one, he keeps close. Where offence is found, Love is bound. Indeed beautifully worded..
