My Goddess' Will

by Daylight Lucidity   Mar 28, 2013

I know she listens to my urgent prayers
caring eyes trained on my troubles
my goddess, I ask everyday,
shall tonight be the night
my clock ceases to tick away
might you guide my hand no longer despite
my fighting the urge to shake you off.
I surround myself with your darkness,
night personified, my goddess you have always been
shall I return to your bosom, your love and warmth,
or is your will I fight back again
for those who claim to love me so.
I dream of your grove, my darling Nyx,
vibrant and soothing, where I can finally relax
somewhere I belong, the Otherworld does call
I hear her sweet song, yet I still fall
into despair of never seeing my love another day
Nyx, I do beg of you once more,
show me, lend me, the strength you did before
I welcome you, I cherish you, I worship you always
for my eternal soul rests within your hands
my place, for now, is here I do understand
however, I await the day I walk into your embrace
to rejoin my place amongst the grove's beauty
and live out my days shrouded in your night and serenity
protected and loved by you.
I know she listens to my urgent prayers
caring eyes trained on my troubles
my goddess, dear Nyx, I ask everyday,
shall tonight be the night
my clock ceases to tick away
"child, listen to your heart, it will guide your way"
your voice echoes within every inch of my being.
