Whispering Lullabies

by Baby Rainbow   Mar 30, 2013

Floating peacefully
in the midnight sky,
the moon shines down
to watch over your dreams.

Hush now, listen closer,
can you hear her lullabies
as she whispers them
into your pillow?

With her twinkling stars
she creates a night light,
which will guide the path
in your adventures tonight.

Hush now,
lay down your sleepy head
and close your eyes,
drift off into the land
of dreams that patiently
awaits for your return.

I love how the main character through out the poem seems to be an angel watching over and protecting you. The imagery is well done and makes the reader feel at peace. Its night time but it seems to be a calm swept over this person dreaming. I love how the second character seems to be a lil kid who has a lot of trouble deep down but this night seems to be well. These dreams bring her peace from a life that is difficult to deal with. Lullabies bring a nice touch here because when I think of them I think of sleep. A mother is an angel to a little girl and thats what I think of. I always use stars as the guiding light so those lines stuck with me. Dreams sometimes are the only safe place for a child or person and thats the feeling I get here. This person has someone watching over them and the only way to see them is through dreams. This is a really cute poem and can bring blithe to any heart. 5/5

This was beautiful, I could just imagine myself reading this to little nephews as they slept.

I love the simplicity and the gentleness, that is one thing that always touches me when you write, how you pen something so simple yet so beautiful and gentle...the smoothness and flow was almost flawless.

It made me smile, it made me feel teary, that's the beauty of the pen...it moves people, and you move me
