Yellow Shadow

by Baby Rainbow   Mar 30, 2013

I have a cloud that follows me,
ink-black and full of sorrow.
No matter where I go he's there
to rain on my parade.

But my black cloud had a shadow today,
for once he was being followed.
A shade of yellow was in the background
and would not be pushed aside.

I could sense the fear within this cloud,
the same fear he tries to install in me.
But today he failed to drag me under,
he could not drown me in his power.

For every rain drop he threw down,
the yellow shadow dried them up.
She followed the darkness with her light
and she soon took over the sky.

This yellow shadow has been stitched
to the outline of my heart,
so this black cloud has met his match
and I know he will not win.

Because my yellow shadow
guides me through the darkness
and she is there to remind me
of tomorrow's brighter days.

This is really well written love the images you portrait...
This is I'm guessing about the day and night clash with the sun being the yellow shadow... I started going towards... It being maybe a guardian angel.... Either way I think it sets both thoughts off... Well done saff

Saffie, i like it, on how you play the things in this poem with heroes and at the same time villains in our life, there can be no life without ins and outs just like nature with prey and predator...thumbs up

OH SAFFIE!! a powerfully inspiring piece... I sure hope that yellow shadow keeps pushing it's way in and forces that black cloud away forever...

    I LOVE this!!!
But what I love the most about it is the use of the "yellow shadow" <--- now this is smart:)
How it dries the rain droplets, and pushes the black cloud away.
    The "good ones" won yayy.
    Awesome jon Saffie:)
