A Pleasant Day

by Ashraf Al Deen   Apr 2, 2013

I was walking from Limehouse towards White Chappell
Across Stepney Green park in a windy evening alone;
The sun has gone down; the day had a very good weather.
The air in the park has become warm with the noises
from a team of youths kicking around a ball and a group
of toddlers playing and giggling at the children's corner.
With my hands inside the trouser's pocket I was relaxed
in each of my steps, watching the cars rushing back home.
There was no rain like yesterday, as it was, the whole day;
There was no snow on the road-side or falling like last winter.
It was indeed a very pleasant day passing away, leaving
London in the uncertainty, if you talk about weather,
as ever.

London, Limehouse, 20/09/11 ; 2315 hrs.
