Toro Nagashi (Lantern offering on the sea)

by Ashraf Al Deen   Apr 2, 2013

Sudden single tiny spark in the corner of the sky,
May be for a moment yet forces the darkness to die;
'Light' beholds such a power as eternal as God,
Let us thus lit a source of light in our soul and thought.

Let there be light of hope and kindness on our mother earth;
May the people end their life in peace, as natural as birth.
No more hatred, fighting and killing death in disgrace no more;
Toro Nagashi calls you: 'Come! Help the souls ashore.
All those souls that fallen victim by war, disaster and disease;
From the sea of delusion let their salvation be at ease.
Lit a candle with prayer and love, be at heart on the knee;
To symbolize our eternal life, leave it afloat on the sea.'

He sun is setting in the solemn darkness along Hawaiian shore;
Thousands candles dances, you see! That's how life should adore.
