Tomb

by Daylight Lucidity   Apr 5, 2013

Do you see that there tomb?
The one which houses my brighter self,
The one that allows my love to decay; and to be assumed
That my very essence worth saving, too, rots bitterly within its confines.
I walk the streets as though I am alive
Yet I'm dead on the inside, controlled by the demon possessing me
I breathe and I talk, I walk and I run, but when you get to know me you will find
That I am nothing but an all too aware zombie.
Place your hand upon my heart
You shan't feel it beat
For its silence is symbolic; it lays broken and scarred
As I drown in my agonizing defeat.
Blow out my candle, dear agony embodied,
One that was lit by Satan himself to kill me slowly
Kiss away all my pain, my trusty razor
Rid me of this blazing red liquid; put me in death's favor.
I used to see beauty in my pleasurable pain
Now there lies unsaid secrets haunting my mind
Taunting and mocking and threatening to tell and to shame
Please, Nyx, give me a sign...
Am I truly alive
As I lay in my tomb?
