Another Me

by Daylight Lucidity   Apr 6, 2013

In the search for happiness
There are uncountable miseries given light
May I have your hand to guide me through my wreckage,
For you to join me in infinite night,
For you to save me from my other self
Her eyes that of a frozen sea
Hate seeping from her pores; I can't help
But feel her undeniable presence in my every breath, my every plea.
Beauty racking my soul with guilt
For she kills with each kiss
She forces my rose- my very life- to wilt
Her lipstick, that which is acid, lying dormant on her ruby red lips.
Another me
Lies on the horizon of the apocalypse
Planning, waiting, hating silently
Only your hand can save the dying angel
That lives within my soul
Before she is killed- strangled
By the other me, the demon inside, I need your hand to hold.
I love you, other me, but you must fade
Into the blackness that feeds on humanity's ignorance
I may be selfish, but I want her to stay
So please, other me, be the difference
Between my happiness,
And the world's destruction.
