To Feel

by Maple Tree   Apr 8, 2013

I've been forbidden to cross
a threshold of here, now
blanketed in silence of
the final fallen snowflake.

Frostbitten lips, scorched
from depths of darkness,
melted enough to experience
the sting of reality.

Kisses awaken tears upon my
lizard skin, fallen in desperation
to become alive again,
I can't bare to feel this tragedy;

not now, I'm not ready to feel.

    Andrea this is such a sad, sad poem. I can't hardly comment because I don't even know what to say... I just want to hug you. Everyone says sometimes you have to let yourself feel to grieve or move forward, or even figure out what's going on in your head but I disagree. Sometimes it's okay to be naive and numb to the pain to get through the day until you know you're ready to face the hurt.

    This is such a beautiful poem.
