Explorers

by Poet on the Piano   Apr 8, 2013

We are explorers...

not in your typical sense, casting lots for
what we'll sell in order to build our masts
and relinquish ourselves to the tide-

we are not anywhere known.

There does not need to be crystal bubbles
parading from our mouths or mountaintops
we crush our feet into and exhale stolen
petals [all in the same shared breath].

You may think this is vain, that this place
we are bound to is a place without senses
but dear, I tell you, my soul is everything
the world has tried to express, and only
when I am tied to you.

So don't back away from your dreams.
They are with me.
I am young. You are young. We are living...

I don't know where, I truly don't know where,
you will hold my hand or how your face
will be molded into a new atmosphere,
branching out through fresh air
I never let be captain.
You will be like white chocolate that
glides across my lips, something so rare,
a meaning that reminds me Spring enfolds
us and we

make our very own paths.

This is a really moving piece. Is it more of a love poem? But also with an interlude of a strive to glimpse through the meaning of life? I liked it very much.

This really stood out to me and got my curiosity up as to understand what exactly it means:
"You may think this is vain, that this place
we are bound to is a place without senses"

What is this place without senses, and without which senses exactly?

    Great read!

Touching, and very sensual... the white chocolate analogy was particularly telling while still remaining eloquent; it actually reminded me of a bit from "Cat's Cradle" by Kurt Vonnegut (a fantastic book).

it makes me sad that i lack such a person, but its still a very compelling read, i can almost imagine being there in that kind of loving situation.
