Grieving Beautifully

by Maple Tree   Apr 13, 2013

It was the morning after, those
sprouting dandelions poked their
little butter cup smiles my way,
feeling the freshness of a crisp
curtain breeze, I smile in return.

I suppose waiting for spring was
her intention all along, if her heart
was to exit in winter, it surely would
have frozen my mug, cold coffee was
never my forte.

I'm relieved we didn't paint the shelves
a dark violet, because her sweetest of grins
can be gazed upon in a blush pink frame.

I always wondered her reasons for doing the
things she did, few months back;

Now I know, it was to soften the blow of her
departure, and to give me the time to grieve
in a beautiful way....
