Breathe

by Daylight Lucidity   Apr 16, 2013

Breathe.
That's all I can do
To keep from falling to my knees
In grief from losing you.
Can you save me from
Becoming the shadow
Of who I once was,
Breeze of my heart?
You see me shed these blue tears
As I look back at what once was
And I ask in fear,
Was there something I could've done
To have kept you within my arms
While you gave me love
As if you were the shape of my heart...
While the light
From within the night faded
To let a blackened sun rise
As though my world had changed.
You were the stars
That so blindingly shine
That enlightened the marred
Path that I walk bitterly alone in time
As I reminisce in waves
Of memories given
To me through each kiss' taste
While pain drips undetected.
Breathe.
That is all I can do
As I try not to fall, unsuccessfully,
Even more in love with you.
As if a babbling brook,
My heart murmurs soft
Until now it took
To tell the secrets of my forlorn heart
While I have you alone
As we were moons ago
Can you see a glow
Surrounding myself, no mere show.
Breathe.
That's all I should do
But how can I, see,
If I have no air to
For you take my breath away
With every glance my way.
