Ghost of the Red Web

by Maple Tree   Apr 17, 2013

Polka dot red, swarmed
within netting of an iridescent
web, miraculously awaiting
exhales from dehydrated lips.

Ladies stand in formation
as the spider spinner queen
orchestrates orders to revive
the soul that stands before them.

Iris's gaze in natures grace
as spirits orb in circular artistry,
hypnotizing a new beginning
in a sun drenched birth of mourn.

-Sighs- I've just read Meme's contest piece about rain and life, then Hannah's latest about love, that was so sensual, then Linda's piece that just made me cry and then this....it gave me goosebumps, chills...it was eery yet remarkably beautiful in its imagery, how do you do that?

What a whirlwind of feelings, emotions, experiences...

You have such a gift, to take something like a spider and make it sound so pleasant yet so creepy...
The wording is so unique, and some might say it's fussy and over-worded but I think it's you, and you're awesome as you are...this is what I love about your writes, the way they are exquisitely penned...so smooth yet so complex

    Hugs and love

This is a really eery kind of write. The imagery:

    exhales from dehydrated lips.
as spirits orb in circular artistry,
    sun drenched birth of mourn

are chillingly beautiful. I absolutely love.
