Praying For A Sign

by Some Random Human   Apr 17, 2013

I called your phone,
guess you weren't home,
so after the tone,
I begged and I moaned,
please don't leave me alone,
all my feelings I've shown,
I made everything known,
this hurts to the bone,

Can't you see,
I've been praying for a sign,
but it seems like God,
just hasn't got the time,
can't you see,
I've been dropping you a line,
but with every single rhyme,
I can see that you're not mine,

I left you a note,
this is what I wrote,
I'm running out of hope,
at the end of my rope,
I don't think I can cope,
going down this slope,
there's no antidote,
you went straight for the throat,

Can't you see,
I've been praying for a sign,
but it seems like God,
just hasn't got the time,
can't you see,
I've been dropping you a line,
but with every single rhyme,
I can see that you're not mine,

I sent you a letter,
said I'm not getting better,
my face is getting wetter,
not because of the weather,
this old heart has been tethered,
you swore it was forever,
now you're saying never,
why can't we be together,

Can't you see,
I've been praying for a sign,
but it seems like God,
just hasn't got the time,
can't you see,
I've been dropping you a line,
but with every single rhyme,
I can see that you're not mine,

Can't you see,
I've been praying for a sign,
but I guess that God,
just hasn't got the time,
can't you see,
I've been dropping you a line,
but with every single rhyme,
I see that you're still not mine,
see that you're still not mine,
will you ever be mine,
no, you'll never be mine...
