Soap Suds and Grief

by Maple Tree   Apr 20, 2013

I must be going crazy
in a mind filled with
soup suds and grief.

Washing dishes, you
called my name as clear
as if you were behind me.

Turning fast, eager to hug
you, soap suds fell from
dancing finger tips onto the floor.

Puddles circle around bare
toes as I stand in silence,
dripping, from hands
and eyelids-

If I could see your face,
then this moment would
be a silly one, but I can't.

Washing the dishes is a
lonely time,

just a very lonely time....

This piece is beautiful and while you'll feel sad, the memories are one thing you'll keep and I hope you find comfort in the small things you remember like this...you penned it very beautifully...

I see this is a tough time, Andrea. We all can relate, and we all sympathize. This poem breaks my heart. I know you feel lost and lonely, but Momma P is an ever-present angel. Gotta remember that.<3

That just broke me. I feel the helpless, almost childlike sorrow in your heart when I read this stanza. You'll make it through. This poem is so precious. You guys literally are the idealistic mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationship. I hope I have something that incredible someday. Hang in there.

    love you, sweetness<3

This is really touching. The eagerness to turn around thinking that she is behind while she is not brings tears to the readsrs eyes. Even if she is not physically there Im sure she is living wothin your heart<3
