Evaporation

by Maple Tree   Apr 22, 2013

The eye's of a pendulum
swing, ring, in a mind
of a delusional soul.

Fading spirits remain
a mystery until a
momentary flashback

evaporates,

Losing my thoughts
as if a back burner
boils illusions.

Pitchfork plucking
hay bails, crossing
wires of my cerebellum.

I'm losing my soul
at a ticker tape
parade,
confetti dancing
in a sorrow filled
rain shower....

Wow, Crystal just explained it pretty much perfectly. This is a really deep piece. I've been holding back on commenting this morning because I really don't know what to say. The feeling in this poem is just so..empty. There's such sadness in the soul of the speaker. It socks me in the gut.

This is a day for deep, sad pieces for all my favorite authors today. But, what great wording and images. Not that it's like happy great - like you just are amazing with your wording. This really is touching. Describes the feeling of being vacant completely perfectly.

    love you, gorgeous!

These last few lines Andrea, gave me chills. When I read this I pictured someone standing in a parade, where the confetti fell in slow-motion. Where everyone around you is enjoying the moment but you are standing there feeling alienated. Like life was going on without you... This made my heart hurt.

You just penned exactly what I was thinking when I wrote my last piece...its that emptiness inside that tears at your heart when you're mind is totally full of thoughts...

I love the way you can word things, "ticker tape parade", I mean...that's just amazing, Time really is just ticking away sometimes when so much is going on.
