I'm Over You!

by Tess Harvester   Apr 22, 2013

I let your thighs
Wind me across the dance floor
Of love.

You chose the movies
We watched in dark theaters
On Sunday afternoons.

You led me on hikes
Through the shady forest
But wouldn't look at the skylights
In the library.

You brought anger
Into my home
And stored it in my closet.

You decided exactly how
And when
The tragedy of our romance
Would end.

I cried
Like a broken doll
Until one day I sat up.

I've decided
I'm going to the library
To look at the skylights.

I'm over you
Like a frog on her way to a concert
Hopping over a dead log.
