Little Angel

by McKenzie Pratt   Apr 24, 2013

Broken wings; shattered heart
Her voice screams for salvation
As she remembers her only days of joy.
Poor little angel, left alone to bleed.
What a pitied little girl, with her dying voice of sanity.
Don't you wish you could fly?
Leave all lost hope and begin anew?
Of course, baby girl, but I'm afraid you can't.
Are you not able to see?
They've crushed your wings;
They've smashed your dreams
And laid you out to die.
Haven't you realized, my child, that they don't care?
Just lay, and let the painful memories devour.
Don't worry, little angel, for it is almost over,
And pain shan't come again.
So just breathe, little angel
Can't you feel the darkness creeping in?

Full of emotion and just so hauntingly beautiful. You wrote this perfectly, I could picture it all. It's sad, but it has an elegance that just empowers it more. Amazing job!
