Sham

by Daylight Lucidity   Apr 24, 2013

I may kiss your cheek,
I may hold your hand,
But darling to me you mean nothing
Because your poisonous love left me branded.

I have trouble trusting,
I have trouble caring,
But darling I hate the way you took me
And used whatever I had left for sharing.

Call me every name in the book,
Call me what you will,
But please, seriously? All my kindness you took
So how does that medicine taste? How does that pain feel?

Use me if you must,
Use me if your cold, non-beating, heart wants
But just let me tell you about this, Love,
Your emptiness and shallowness are the only things you flaunt.

You think you're pretty,
You think you're hot,
But damn, girl, you've got to be kidding
Because that is everything you surely are not.

I used to love you,
I used to give a damn,
But now, honey, I don't care what you do
Because all you truly are, is a sham.
