The Voice

by Karen   Apr 24, 2013

I heard a myth once,
About a voice that spoke.
Some say it spoke deep inside,
Others thought otherwise.

It was like your best friend,
It understood your pain.
It was like your worst friend,
It corrected your mistakes.

He would sometimes think like me,
And other times we would disagree.
She was like an epiphany,
Letting me see the Zeus and Eris of things.

I thought of the voice and what it could be,
Whether it was male or female, that's a mystery.
Then I asked it what could you be? the day I finally had the chance to speak to it,
Surprised it was when it responded, how do you not know your own conscience.

Indeed, I, sometimes, find it difficult to just go straight to the point.i feel poems need more to them at times. I guess to emphasize the point.
