Song Of The Soldier

by You Can Speak But I Can Rhyme   Apr 29, 2013

In the absolute pitch of trust-less dark;
Wanders my soul that leaves a mark;
While ticking clocks erases my time;
When life keeps throwing countless dimes...

You threw me in and never looked back,
My love you murdered and my soul you hacked,
What's left of me has in the dark submerged;
I kept pleading; to revive me I urged...

I am a human, and they call me a soldier;
This life, my fate I wish I could've altered;
I forsake my life, yet I cannot forsake my feelings;
I can forget myself, I cannot forget the killings...

One wound after the other, you punched holes in my heart;
To paint my dagger in blood was quite the art,
One man against another, we are sons of the same race;
Thirsting for each other's blood; in the end there'll be no trace..

Of all I choices that I had made in the past;
Hoping and praying that this war shouldn't last;
This land is soaked with blood of my brothers slain;
Nobody but only us can understand our pain...

The more I kill, and the more I die;
Though victory may fall on our side, but within I cry;
What need be such that turns man against man;
We all are mere pawns in this viscous plan...
