I Still Loved You.

by Daphne Darling   Jul 2, 2004

As I look up at the night sky,
My heart is skipping all along,
As I am wondering on this question,
Why cant as the new sun dawns,
Why can’t I fly away with the night,
Let the night sky fall down on me,
Let it engulf all my pain,
As I rip out my heart and lay it down,
I spread it out at you very feet,
Do not you see now? Do not you see it?
Do not you see through all the pain?
Do not you see that I still love you?
Make the sky fall down upon us,
Make the stars our very home,
Golden letters written in blood,
The silver moon shining down on it,
Thinking of the golden hours,
When the world rejoiced for it all,
When all the world cheered on the mass,
Now the broken souls scatter at my feet,
Through all the pain cant you see it?
I still love you, even when it doesn’t show,
Can’t you see it in my eyes as you look at me,
Can’t you see the tears of shame I cry?
I cry them because I have hurt you,
Through all the angry words of hatred and jealousy,
I still loved you, even when it hurt to,
Look at me now, I am spreading out my heart,
Spilling my very blood just to show you,
Just to show you I still love you as I did,
Nothings changed, why are you walking on?
Have you already chosen to ignore me?
Just know, through all the fighting,
Even though it hurt so, I still loved you.
