Fading Heartbeats

by You Can Speak But I Can Rhyme   Apr 29, 2013

The ache that aches, like a bottomless hole;
Deep to the roots, of my heartless soul;
The wind chimes sing, the bells that ring;
My stories that haunt, the pain that it brings...

A cozy creaking sound, my heart is open;
Where hurt is born, when hopes are broken;
The tears that I cry, the chance denied;
I've counted them all, of things I'm deprived...

My shallow shadow follows, wherever I go;
Through every rainy night, and every wintry snow;
That merciless smirk, your gift since birth;
Fooled me always, filled my life with dirt...

Feather like lies, sweetly hides the truth;
Devouring my faith, love's forbidden fruit;
Heaving a bad sigh, your love is but a lie;
The truth screams aloud, yet you simply defy...

Pitch black blue, the room is now cold;
The stage is set, the circle tightly folds;
One last fall, the heart's final call;
The beats are fading, such is a love so small...
