Oh my gosh that last stanza really got my heart all tangled up, made my spine have the goosebumps all over. I truly didn't see that one coming and it was really truly mind blowing. the entire poem was awesome but the last stanza was the climax of this poem imo.

"as my body collapses to the floor and realization
sweeps my mind, I recognize it was you.
you felt our connection, scared of its dangers,
    and struck the match...

    a fire with no chance."

damn even as I type this, it still hits me hard, guess experiencing this as well makes it hurt ever more. to see the one person you care, be the culprit of the destruction of a friendship/relationship, truly stings. i can't emphasis how much this poem really depict how a lot of relationships are these days, but you made me visualize it and my god, you have done a splendid job Chelsey, bravo bravo...-claps- this calls for an encore.

Jaw dropping ... I am in love with the first stranza it really made a statement about the whole story behind this poem ... I loved how its easy to understand
But written in a way that shows pure talent.

Well thought out piece indeed .

    Okay,
so, I read this on my way home earlier but I was on the bus and I was getting a bit nauseous from the motion and every time I tried to comment, I felt queasy...
and then when I read it again, I just started to cry, it was really really deep and emotional, and then I was like "how can I comment on this now", but I kept mulling it over, seeing the different emotions, the anger, the pain, the sadness, then the strength, the comfort, the moving forward, the knowledge that you weren't to blame, and that ending...just so powerful.

I love this piece for its rawness and brilliance, it just felt like you were penning my thoughts about old loves, about how I felt and still sometimes feel.

It was just really well written, super smooth flow, great imagery, emotion and power

I love you and I love this!!

Ahh, I'm in love with this entire piece! The difference between the two fires... the passion, electricity that happens at the beginning of a relationship and then the destruction of a fire in the end. Breathtaking is what this is.

    Nominated! :)
