It's Your Eyes

by Leo   May 2, 2013

It's your Eyes, they say
That laugh in gay abandon with the world

It's your Eyes, they say
That sparkle sunshine, manifold

It's your Eyes, they say
That wary, pretend bold

It's your Eyes, they say
That at pain, turn teary-eyed cold

It's your Eyes, they say
That betray, the sorrow never told

It's your Eyes, always your Eyes
That joy, hope, bravado, love,
But also pain behold...

I liked the format of this poem with the repetition at the start of each stanza, but my favorite line is "It's your Eyes, always your Eyes" for it conjures up more images in my mind to be told. Nice job.
