Tinted Flashbacks

by Hannah Lizette   May 5, 2013

Rearview mirrors
contain spotted
reminders of our
dusted identities.

Teenage sheers
trapped 'neath a
moonlit sky-roof,

words quickly became breaths,
steam strangled glass
whilst fingertips tip-toed
past unfastened seatbelts.

To this day,
I swear I still see
red and blue lights
flicker in your
pleading eyes.

I too, am a big fan of your wording. You have an incredible way with words, tieing emotion and imagery behind them, but also being short and semi-simple. Your poetry always impresses me. (:

I love how well the beginning and the end of this poem tie in/contrast. It gives the poem an actual sense of being a flashback.

Also, something about this seems really dark, possibly the thoughts behind the poem. I think I have an idea what it's about but at the same time, it could portray different things to different people, so I won't say what it brings to my mind.
