What Is love again?

by Jess   May 11, 2013

If you knew me at all,
You would understand.
I'm not that girl,
Who can simply love a man.

Love to me is more.
More than silly complements,
That really don't mean a thing
When all else fails.

God wants me to be happy
So I believe it too,
That one day ill look out the window
And I'll see you.

I want you to know I care,
That you'll always be in my heart.
Yet the feeling I have for you,
Is just to much to grasp.

I'm an independent girl,
You have to understand its true.
I wish I could say I love you,
But I never know if it's true.

Hi, i must say that i love a good and sweet love poem and this really hit the spot! I loved the rhyme scheme applied here though it would have flowed better if minor tweaks would be made to the second verse, last sentence so that the last word could rhyme with 'complements'.

But generally, i liked the inspiration this poem drew upon. I could not have penned such feelings down as brilliantly as how you did. It felt raw and at the same time, heart-breaking. Overall, good write! :)
